Ashley Madekwe and Ashley Leggat
Madekwe is a British-Nigerian mixed race child was born into a family in South London. She has a father who is Nigerian and Swiss, while her mom is English. Her family was raised on a south London council estate and attended The Brit School at age 14. She pursued acting studies at the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art, London. She performed in various stage productions during her school days, including the stage productions King Henry V and Wuthering Heights.
Madekwe's acting career began with Storm Damage. Since then, she has appeared in Teachers, Doctors Casualty and Drop Dead Gorgeous. Madekwe's debut film appearance was in Woody Allen's 2007 Cassandra's Dream opposite Colin Farrell, Ewan McGregor. After that, she played Elisha in the single-episode BBC Three drama pilot West 10 LDN, and appeared in the six episodes of Trexx and Flipside in the role of Ollie. She was Bambi as Bambi in The ITV2 series Secret Diary of a Call Girl. Madekwe starred in the 2008 Comedy film How to Lose Friends & Get People to Leave. A couple of her credits on stage are Little Sweet Thing (by Roy Williams) as well as Flight Path (by David Watson).
Madekwe's US debut was in 2009 with the thriller The Beautiful Life. The series aired only two episodes before being removed from The CW. In February, she was cast 2011 as Ashley Davenport on the ABC drama Revenge. In late May 2013, it was announced that Madekwe, who had appeared on the show as a series regular for the past two seasons, had decided to quit the show with a guest appearance on the premiere episode of the season's new episode. She was Tituba on the television program Salem from 2014 to 2016. Madekwe got married to her long-time love, Iddo. Alongside Secret Diary of a Call Girl they also appeared in tandem on Salem and he had an appearance with her on that TV show.
Ashley Leggat grew up in Hamilton Ontario with an extended family. Her parents were Roy and Patty and four older brothers: Rob, Brett, and twins Todd and Bram. Ashley's brothers, who are all athletes, play in the summer months and play hockey in the winter months. Ashley did not walk, but she was a dancer, and at age 2 1/2 years old she took up Baby Ballet -and she fell in love with. Ashley was addicted to dance from that moment. Ashley performed in competitive ballet, tap and jazz in high divisions. She won the top soloist awards at all of the most prestigious dance competitions like, International Dance Challenge, Showstoppers, 5-6-7-8 Showtime, Flash Dance, and Dance, Dance, Dance just to mention a few.
